Stacks of boxes left at a lift lobby at Block 682 Hougang Avenue 4 have been removed following a complaint by a resident.

Stomp YuLin shared with Stomp that the boxes belong to a fruit stall.

"The fruit stall misused the common area near Lift C," the Stomper said.

"They really treat it like they own the whole common area."

In response to a Stomp query, an Ang Mo Kio Town Council (AMKTC) spokesman said it received similar feedback regarding the incident.

"We have verified that it was a one-off incident where the new fruit stall owner had temporarily placed a large amount of their goods which were waiting to be packed into the shop," the spokesman said.

"Fortunately, these goods were cleared within 2 hours and we had reminded the operator not to repeat the same mistake as it causes inconveniences to other users and reminded them to keep the place clear of obstructions.

"We have conducted regular inspections in March and April 2022.

"So far, the fruit stall owner has been cooperative and complied with the ODA (outdoor display area) guidelines and fire safety requirements.

"AMKTC will continue to work with the relevant agencies to maintain a safe and comfortable environment for all our residents."
