A man was thrilled when a beautiful spotted dove paid him a visit at his home at D'Leedon condominium.

Stomper Mike shared a video of the bird that he saw on his balcony on August 26.

He recounted: "It was threatening to rain in the morning at around 11am. I was doing work on my laptop when I noticed there was some movement outside my window.

"To my surprise, I saw a dove on the railing of my balcony. Immediately, I whipped out my iPhone and snapped a photo. It appeared to be unafraid of me so I shot a video.

"The bird was there for about ten minutes. After that, it hobbled to other parts of the balcony.

"I later Googled and realised that the bird was a spotted dove and not a zebra dove."

Mike noted that the dove was not wary of him, likely because it is used to increased interactions with humans.

He added: "With more forests being cleared in recent years, birds have to find homes to rest and hunt for food."

This is not the first time the Stomper has welcomed birds in his home.

In 2021, he watched over a sunbird that laid eggs on his balcony and even protected its nest from a thunderstorm. The bird eventually welcomed twin hatchlings, much to Mike's delight.
