SPCA looking for man who abused chickens in Hougang to assist with investigations

The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) is appealing for information regarding an incident in which a man was caught on camera abusing chickens in Hougang.

A video of the incident, which occurred at a carpark in Hougang Avenue 3 on Sunday (May 22), sparked outrage after being posted on the Singapore Wildlife Sightings Facebook group. It has been shared over 1,200 times.

The video shows a man tailing a flock of chickens and then kicking and stomping on them. He also uses a slipper to hit the chickens and throws it at them.

In a Facebook post on Monday (May 23), SPCA said it is "seeking the identity of the person in the video to assist with investigations".

They also appealed for anyone with credible information in relation to the case to call its 24/7 hotline at 6287 5355 (ext. 9) or email inspector@spca.org.sg.

Information provided will be treated in the strictest of confidence.
