Sparks fly as vehicle catches fire along TPE before Jalan Kayu exit

A vehicle caught fire along the Tampines Expressway (TPE), before the Jalan Kayu exit, on Wednesday evening (Oct 10).

Stomper Gerald, who was passing by, contributed a video that showed the vehicle in flames. Sparks could also be seen.

He told Stomp that he was stuck in a traffic jam that lasted around 30 minutes to an hour as a result of the incident.

In response to a Stomp query, the Singapore Civil Defence (SCDF) said they responded to the vehicle fire at about 7.45pm.

The fire was extinguished by SCDF using one water jet.

No injuries were reported.
