A woman was spotted riding a personal mobility aid (PMA) in front of Tan Tock Seng Hospital along Irrawady Road last Friday (Sep 14) at about 2.30pm.

Stomper Mohammed alerted to Stomp about the incident by sharing a photo with us on WhatsApp.

Mohammed was driving along Irrawady Road when he spotted the elderly woman on her PMA.

"Some motorcycles went past by her and almost hit her as they were very close," Mohammed told Stomp in a phone interview.

"Other vehicles were also honking at her.

"She was travelling very slowly on the public road.

"She continued on the road for about 10 seconds before turning onto the pedestrian walkway."

According to the Land Transport Authority website, PMAs, such as electric wheelchairs and mobility scooters, are not allowed on roads in Singapore.

PMAs can only be used on shared paths and footpaths.
