SMRT bus captain goes above and beyond to help visually impaired couple

A Stomper was touched by the actions of a kind SMRT bus captain who went above and beyond to assist a visually impaired couple.

Stomper Jack said that he was on board bus service 976 on Mar 16.

"The bus captain noticed a visually impaired couple stumble at a bus stop while waiting to board the bus," he said.

"He stopped the bus near the kerb and quickly ran out to help them and to hold their hands while boarding the bus.

"After the bus reached Bukit Panjang Bus Interchange, the captain helped the husband and wife alight from the bus safely.

"I wish to thank the bus captain for being alert and ensuring the safety of passengers with special needs.

"Good spirit and kind bus captain."
