Smoke emits from Volvo as it catches fire in Balestier

Smoke can be seen emitting from a Volvo which caught fire along Jalan Kebun Limau at about 11.55am on Friday (Sep 20).

Stomper Koh contributed a video of the scene which was filmed as he drove past the area.

He told Stomp: "I saw the Volvo at the side and saw smoke coming out from the car."

Another Stomper drove past the scene at about 1.30pm and shared photos of the car's aftermath.

Responding to a Stomp query, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said: "SCDF responded to a fire along Jalan Kebun Limau at about 11.55am on Sep 20.

"The fire involved a vehicle and was extinguished by SCDF using one water jet and one compressed air foam backpack.

"There were no reported injuries. The cause of the fire is under investigation."
