The family of a woman who was hit by a lorry and dragged by the vehicle in an accident at Woodlands are appealing for witnesses to step forth.

The victim’s son, Sean Yeo, said in a Facebook posting that the incident happened at a traffic junction between Woodlands Avenue 3 and Woodlands Centre Road on Friday (Feb 1), at around 10.30am.

His mother was walking in the direction of Marsiling MRT Station after the pedestrian light flashed green when a lorry suddenly hit her and dragged her along the road before stopping.

Sean’s mother was pinned under the vehicle, and she told Sean that she remembered getting pulled out by a few passersby after the accident.

She wanted to contact her family but realised that her phone had been crushed during the accident. Her clothes were also completely ripped.

Sean’s mother suffered broken ribs, a dislocated shoulder, as well as injuries on her legs and face. In particular, the skin on her left leg was ripped clean off, exposing bones, muscles and tendons.

She is currently still warded in the intensive care unit (ICU).

Said Sean in his Facebook post, which his friend Stomper Rachel alerted us to: “My family is in shock and distress, and we are seeking help for witnesses to this accident.
