What happened? Water pours through lift at Toa Payoh HDB block

Stomper Jacki alerted Stomp to a viral post by Facebook user Ungku Ibrahim on All Singapore Stuff, sharing how he encountered a bizarre scene at Toa Payoh Housing and Development Board (HDB) block where a lift was leaking water due to heavy rain. 

Said Ungku in the video caption: 

"Power! Now HDB flats have rain showers too. 

"Maybe this is why you pay through the nose for a flat, for extra features like this!" 

Many users shared and commented on the post, garnering over 103,000 views.

Said user Derrick Lim sarcastically:

"Singapore is not a cultural desert as many people think.

"This latest piece of art by HDB demonstrate our artist talents can be found even in heartlands.

"Simply titled "waterfall lift", it is a shame our heartlanders fail to recognise art when they see a masterpiece."
