S'porean man dies after plunging 20m down JB waterfall while trying to save daughter

A 47-year-old Singaporean man died after plunging 20 metres off Gunung Pulai waterfall in Johor Bahru yesterday (Jul 3).

According to the Star/ANN via AsiaOne, David Cho Kah Loong was trying to save his seven-year-old daughter Rachael who had slipped from an edge of the waterfall earlier.

They had been picnicking together with Cho's wife and two other friends near the waterfall before the incident took place.

Kulai Fire and Rescue Department chief Mohd Zainuddin Khairi said that Rachael sustained injuries from the fall but did not comment on her condition.

The body has been sent to Kulai Hospital for post mortem.
