Police on islandwide hunt for suspected robber who made away with $20,000 from Standard Chartered bank at Holland Village

A suspected robbery took place at the Standard Chartered bank branch in Holland Village this afternoon (July 7).

Stompers Roslan and Edros alerted Stomp to the incident via WhatsApp after seeing police officers on the scene.

According to The Straits Times, eyewitnesses said that they saw as many as 10 police cars and two police vans.

Police officers were also seen in bulletproof vests and equipped with shields.

According to Lianhe Wanbao and Shin Min Daily News, a single suspect was involved and that he had showed a note over the counter before making away with $20,000.

The police are now on an islandwide hunt for the suspected robber.

A police spokesperson told Stomp that investigations are ongoing.
