Oven sparks fire at Upper Paya Lebar Rd, no reported injuries: SCDF

Stomper LoveBunny alerted Stomp to a fire that broke out around Playfair Road in the Tai Seng area today (May 15) at around 4.50pm.

In the photos and videos the Stomper contributed, personnel from the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) can be seen packing their equipment along an alley.

Said the Stomper: 

"I think the fire was already extinguished when I passed by the area.

"All I saw were thick fumes of smoke.

"There were a lot of on-lookers in the area and some of them were taking photos."

A spokesperson from the SCDF told Stomp:

"SCDF responded to a fire at 123 Upper Paya Lebar Road at around 4.40pm.

"SCDF dispatched two Fire Engines, one Red Rhino, one support vehicle and one ambulance.

"The fire, which involved an oven, was extinguished by SCDF using one water jet. There were no reported injuries."
