Stomper David is looking for his son, whom he lost contact with 18 years ago in 1999 when the latter was only three years old.

David is a Chinese national and has been in Singapore for the past seven days in an attempt to locate his now adult son. He will be returning home tomorrow (Mar 11).

In a phone interview, he told Stomp that he and his ex-wife, who is also from China, had divorced 18 years ago.

She subsequently moved to Singapore with their son and remarried. Both are now Singapore citizens.

David's efforts to contact his ex-wife and son over the past several years have proved to be futile. Hence, he is seeking the public's help and appealing to anyone who personally knows his son.

Said the Stomper, who also supported his story with documents from the couple's marriage and divorce as well as his son's birth certificate:

"I am seeking my boy, Chen Wen Tao (陈文涛). His birthday is 9 December 1996.

"My surname is Wang and my ex-wife's surname is Lin, so my son was Lin Wen Tao (林文涛) in China. But since my ex-wife married a Singapore citizen, Mr Chen, they changed my son's name to Chen Wen Tao (陈文涛).

"Unfortunately, Mr Chen died around 15 years ago, when my son was four to five years old. So I think my son always thought his father was dead, but never knew that he has a real father who misses him and has been waiting for him for 18 years.

"I heard that my son studied in Republic Polytechnic's School of Hospitality and graduated last year.

"I only know that he is in the army now and lives in Yishun.

"The last time I saw my son was 18 years ago."
