Dog's blood transfusion needed for Siberian Husky with weak immune system

Facebook user Lynne Chia posted a plea for help on her Facebook page yesterday (Nov 21).

Her 10-year-old Siberian husky, named Storm, has been diagnosed with Immune-Mediated Hemolytic Anemia (IMHA), which caused him to collapse on Sunday night (Nov 20).

According to her post, his condition is stable but remains critical.

IMHA has caused Storm's immune system to attack the his red blood cells, making him anaemic and weak.

Storm does not require an immediate donation but a blood donor on standby as his condition may worsen.

"He is a sweet, sweet soul and we'd like to give him a fighting chance."

It is completely safe for your dog to undergo blood donation. Her family is also offering to cover any costs incurred.

A donor should:

1. Weigh above 20kg
2. Be below 6 years of age

We hope this poorly pooch recovers soon!
