Stomper Kannan managed to snap pictures of the four Galilean moons which are the most massive at Woodlands before sunrise using a Nikon P900.

The moons are known as Callisto, Ganymede, Europa and Io. They are said to be discovered in 1610 by Galileo Galilei and Simon Marius.

To all astronomy-fanatics out there, Stomper Kannan also informed us about the upcoming view of the waning crescent Moon pairing up with planet Jupiter in the pre-dawn eastern sky in Singapore on Dec 22.

If the skies are clear, Kannan expects both the Moon and Jupiter to be visible to the naked eye.

For now, however, planet Jupiter and the Star Spica are paired and visible in the morning skies before sunrise.

You can check out the pictures of Jupiter and Star Spica in the photo gallery.
