More than $120,000 worth of drugs were seized and 104 suspected drug offenders arrested in an 11-day islandwide operation by the Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB).

The operation, which was conducted from Feb 6 to Feb 17, covered areas including Balester, Bishan, Chua Chu Kang, Hougang, Jurong, Kaki Bukit, Marsiling, Toa Payoh and Ubi.

About 1,200g of heroin, 190g of cannabis, 150g of "ice" or methamphetamine, 365 "ecstasy" tablets, 136 Erimin-5 tablets and 38 LSD stamps were seized, said CNB in a press release on Friday (Feb 17).

The operation was supported by the Singapore Police Force.

One of the cases involved a raid of a 46-year-old man's home at Admiralty Drive on Thursday (Feb 16). He was the intended recipient of a parcel intercepted by CNB.

The parcel contained 101 tablets, believed to be controlled drugs, and an assortment of toys.

CNB found a total of 483 tablets suspected to be controlled drugs in the man's home.

A hundred of the tablets were found in a black wrapping made to appear like a bar of soap.

CNB officers also recovered 112 nitrazepam tablets, a substance that is listed under the Poisons Act.

Preliminary investigations show that the suspect had bought the tablets online.

Investigations of all the arrested suspects are ongoing.
