Singapore fans mourn late SHINee member Jonghyun at Hong Lim Park

Fans were seen gathering at Hong Lim Park to mourn the death of late SHINee member Jonghyun at Hong Lim Park.

Stomper Gary shared a video showing fans singing one of the group's debut single, Replay, in unison.

The mood appeared to be sombre in the video as fans waved their smartphones around to the song.

Some were holding white balloons as well.

It was reported by The Straits Times that thousands of fans showed up to the memorial service dressed in black and white.

Despite the large crowd at the event, the fans, made up mostly of young teenage girls, were quiet and orderly.

One of the group's fans, Nur Laila, showed up at the service with a single white rose. She said that she hopes the recent passing of Jonghyun will help to shed light on depression.

"K-pop idols always look so happy and they put on big smiles for their fans, but many people don't know how much they have to go through to put on the best shows for us," said the 16-year-old student.

On Tuesday, South Korean band Dear Cloud's vocalist Nine9 revealed the late Jonghyun's painful suicide note on his Instagram, showing that depression had 'devoured' him.

The death of Jonghyun made headlines around the world after he was found to have committed suicide via carbon monoxide poisoning on Dec 18.
