Is it a misspelling?

A visitor to Sentosa wondered whether she had caught a rather large typo in the spelling of "Sentosa" on the island itself.

Stomper Alle said: "I visited Sentosa on May 7 and saw this."

She shared photos of the topiary next to the roundabout linking Sentosa Gateway and Artillery Avenue shaped to spell out "Sentosa".

Or is it "Sentesa"?

"Is that an 'o' or 'e'?" asked the Stomper.

In response to a Stomp query, a spokesman for Sentosa Development Corporation said: "We would like to thank the visitor for their observation.

"In January, Sentosa Development Corporation unveiled a new brand identity and tagline in January, 'where discovery never ends', as we offer both local and international guests, new ways of discovering new experiences and celebrating connections on Sentosa.

"Our new logo includes our Discovery Symbol, represented by the stylised 'O'. The Discovery Symbol features a tranquil sunrise, representing the array of emotions from the experiences on our island, with the positivity and energy from the sunrays balanced by the calm, hypnotic waves of the sea.

"Meanwhile, we will review the styling with our landscape team to ensure better visibility of the letterings in our logo."

Below are the previous Sentosa logo and the new one side by side.
