Another track fault struck the North South line on Friday (Oct 27) leading to delays for commuters travelling during the morning rush hour.
In a tweet, SMRT first alerted commuters of the delays at 5.56am, informing commuters to expect 20 minutes additional travelling time between Ang Mo Kio and Bishan towards Marina South Pier.

Free shuttle bus services were also activated.
Normal train service resumed about 30 minutes later, at 6.30am.
This is the second time the North South line has been hit with a track fault in the past two days. On Oct 25, a track fault caused trains to travel at slower speeds for city-bound trains from Yishun to Toa Payoh.
According to The Straits Times, the faults are not related. Friday morning's glitch was due to a track point fault related to the signalling system.
