A driver was trapped in his car after it turned on its side in an accident at Pasir Ris Drive 1 early Tuesday morning (Feb 28).

Stomper Quek was on his way to work when he saw the vehicle at 4.25am.

"The fire engines were already there," said the Stomper, who shared photos of the accident.

In response to a Stomp query, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said it was alerted at about 4.05am.

"A person was found trapped in the driver's seat of a car. SCDF rescued the person using rescue equipment," said SCDF adding that the person was taken to Changi General Hospital.

At 5.24am, the Land Transport Authority tweeted about the accident and advised motorists to avoid the right lane of Pasir Ris Drive 1 going towards Pasir Ris Street 51.

When contacted by Stomp, police said the car is believed to have self-skidded.

"A 29-year-old male driver was conveyed conscious to the hospital," added police.

Investigations are ongoing.
