Officers from the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) are working to rescue passengers trapped on the Tiger Sky Tower ride at Sentosa today (Aug 12).

Stomper Claire was passing by the observation tower located in the Imbiah Lookout zone in the centre of Sentosa Island when she saw the area cordoned off and SCDF officers carrying out rescue operations at around 8pm.

"There are around 32 adults and two children stuck in the tower," said Claire who saw an officer write down the details on a board at the scene.

"They are still looking for a solution. I hope everyone is fine!"

The SCDF posted the following update on their Facebook page at 8.06pm:

"SCDF resources are at scene and are currently working with the operator to rescue the trapped passengers.
