Seven people were sent to hospital after a fire broke out in a unit at Blk 372 Jurong East Street 32 this morning (Aug 4).

Stomper Tony sent Stomp photos and a video of the incident that a friend shared with him while another Stomper shared more photos of the flames.

In the video, smoke can be seen coming out of the unit's window.

Some Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) officers can be seen using a fire hose to fight the fire while others set up a ladder leading up to the second-floor unit.

An officer climbs up the ladder to escort at least two people from the unit down to ground level.

An SCDF spokesman told Stomp that they were alerted to the incident at 10.18am.

Four ambulances, two fire bikes, two red rhinos, one fire engine and one support vehicle were dispatched to the scene.

The fire involved contents in the unit and was extinguished using two water jets.

Two residents from a neighbouring unit were rescued by officers.

Five residents were sent to Ng Teng Fong Hospital while another two were sent to National University Hospital.
