Woman stands on ledge outside 3rd-floor unit at Jalan Besar shouting man's name: SCDF to the rescue

A woman was seen standing on a ledge outside a third-floor unit of a building along Jalan Besar on Saturday morning (Apr 8).

Stomper Marco alerted Stomp to the incident and shared a video he took of Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) officers arriving on the scene.

In a forum page on SG Talk, user wendychan posted photos of the same incident and said she saw the woman on the ledge as she was crossing the road.

She then ran over and shouted: "Are you ok, shall I call the police?"

She said the woman kept saying no.

She called the police anyway and said she could hear the woman shouting: "David, David."

In one of her photos, the woman is seen being pulled into the unit by SCDF officers.

In response to a Stomp query, SCDF said they received a call for assistance at 317 Jalan Besar at about 10am.

"Upon SCDF‘s arrival, a person was seen standing on a ledge outside the window of a third-floor unit," an SCDF spokesman said.

"SCDF conducted forced entry into the unit.

"The police and SCDF assisted the person into the unit.

"There were no reported injuries."
