Rubbish collection centre goes up in flames at Blk 32 Bedok South Ave 2

A rubbish collection centre at Block 32 Bedok South Avenue 2 caught fire today (Jun 27) at around 9.40am.

Stomper Nelson was at the scene and shared photos of the raging flames that had consumed the inside of the building.

Thick black smoke was rising from the rubbish collection centre as well.

In response to Stomp queries, a Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) spokesperson said that the fire involved contents of the rubbish collection centre and was extinguished by SCDF using two waterjets.

There were no injuries reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
