A 56-year-old motorcyclist died after he was involved in an accident along the Ayer Rajah Expressway (AYE) on Tuesday morning (Nov 20).

Stompers Dale and John alerted Stomp to a video that is circulating on WhatsApp showing the fallen rider.

In the video, the person recording is talking about how motorists are merging into the first lane in order to avoid the second and third lanes on the expressway.

As he moves on, the rider is seen lying on the road next to a motorcycle. There appear to be blood stains on the road as well.

Stomp will not be publishing the video due to its sensitive nature.

In response to Stomp's media queries, a police spokesman said they were alerted to the accident at about 11.27am along the AYE towards the Marina Coastal Expressway (MCE), near the Lower Delta Road exit.

"The motorcyclist, a 56-year-old man, was pronounced dead by paramedics the scene," the spokesman said.

Stomp understands that the rider self-skidded.

Police investigations are ongoing.
