A recycling truck caught fire at a carpark near Block 107C Edgefield Plains on Thursday (Aug 11).

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) were alerted to the fire at around 11.40am, they told Stomp in response to queries.

The fire involved the contents of a truck and was extinguished by SCDF using one hose reel.

Stomper Maman sent videos of the scene and said fire-fighting efforts took at least an hour, adding: "Firemen couldn't access the fire as the truck door was stuck. They were still dousing water after about an hour."

There were no reported injuries.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
