A pregnant wild boar was killed in an accident involving three cars along the Bukit Timah Expressway on Thursday evening (June 21).

Several Stompers alerted Stomp to photos of the accident that were originally posted by Facebook user Alex Soo.

In the images, the wild boar's mangled carcass and and the bodies of several of its babies can be seen lying on the road.

In response to a Stomp query, the police said they were alerted to the accident, which occurred towards Woodlands and near the Mandai road exit, at 7.40pm.

The wild boar had been run over by two cars travelling on the right-most lane of the expressway. A third car then collided with the second car that had run over the animal.

Police investigations are ongoing.

Earlier on June 17, a wild sambar deer had to be put down after it sustained severe injuries in a three-vehicle accident, also on the BKE near Mandai Road.
