A resident raised concerns after seeing several potted plants placed on window ledges of a Housing Board (HDB) block in Jurong West.
The resident told Stomp that she spotted the safety hazard at Block 178 Yung Sheng Road on Christmas Day (Dec 25).
She said: "I was waiting for my bus at the bus stop opposite this block when I saw the plants on the sixth floor.
"As you can see, there are so many pots placed on not one but two window ledges.
"There is no secure railing to prevent them from falling down to the ground. The windows are not the sliding type but those that open outwards. Also, those are clay pots.
"Can you imagine the danger this poses to people and children walking below?
"I hope the town council can look into this issue seriously and set rules for people putting potted plants on their window ledges.
"When accidents happen, it will be too late."
