Police arrest 49 men at Sentosa party on National Day after tip-off, Ecstasy and ketamine seized

Forty-nine men, aged between 21 and 46, were arrested in a Sentosa hotel villa for suspected drug offences on National Day morning (Aug 9).

Thirty-five of them are Singaporeans, said Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB).

Acting on information received, the police conducted checks on the villa and found substances believed to be controlled drugs at several locations.

Officers from the Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) were subsequently called to the scene.

CNB shared a photo of a phone showing an invitation to the party, believed to be organised via a closed chatgroup platform.

Substances suspected to be controlled drugs, including Ecstasy and ketamine, and other drug paraphernalia were seized.

Investigations by CNB into the drug activities of all arrested suspects are ongoing.

Under the Misuse of Drugs Act 1973, it is an offence for a person to arrange for gatherings for drug abuse, and it is also an offence for the premise owner, tenant or occupier to permit the premises to be used for drug abuse or drug trafficking.
