A personal mobility device (PMD) caught fire at a park connector near Block 892B Woodlands Drive 50 on Monday afternoon (Feb 25).

Stomper Irfan was taking a bus home from school when he saw Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) personnel and police officers at the park.

"I alighted the bus and went to the scene to capture some footage," he said.

In the video, the area around the burning device is cordoned off.

A Deliveroo delivery bag is seen on the ground.

"I asked an SCDF officer what had happened and he said a PMD caught fire," said Irfan.

"As I walked past, I smelt burnt rubber."

In response to a Stomp media query, the SCDF said it responded to the incident at about 3.35pm.

"The fire, which involved a PMD, burnt itself out prior to SCDF's arrival," a spokesman said.

"There were no reported injuries.

"The cause of the fire is under investigation."
