An elderly personal mobility aid (PMA) rider was taken to hospital after he was hit by a taxi at the junction of Choa Chu Kang Way and Choa Chu Kang Avenue 1 on Saturday afternoon (Nov 16).

A Stomper alerted Stomp to the incident and shared photos he took at the scene.

In the photos, an elderly man is seen lying on the road with his foot resting on a cushion.

Several passers-by are surrounding the man to offer assistance and random items are scattered on the road.

The PMA is seen leaning at an angle in front of a ComfortDelGro taxi.

In response to a Stomp query, the police said they were alerted to the accident at about 3.53pm.

"The PMA user, a 73-year-old man, was conscious when conveyed to Ng Teng Fong General Hospital," a police spokesman said.

Ms Tammy Tan, Group Chief Corporate Comminications Officer of ComfortDelGro told Stomp in a statement: “We are sorry to learn about this accident.

"Our priority is the welfare of the injured on the personal mobility aid and we are in touch with the Traffic Police to extend our assistance to him."

Police investigations are ongoing.
