PMA rider, 78, hit by BMW at North Bridge Road

A 78-year-old man was taken to hospital after an accident involving his personal mobility aid (PMA) and a car along Block 10 North Bridge Road last Thursday (May 26).

In response to a Stomp query, the police said they were alerted to the accident at 8.05pm.

The elderly PMA rider was conscious when taken to hospital.

Shin Min Daily News published photos showing the victim lying on the road and reported that he had been riding his PMA across the road when he was hit by a white BMW.

A member of the public said that many passers-by went to the man's aid after the accident. Someone called the ambulance, while the BMW driver got out of his car to check on the victim.

He added: "There were two men and one woman in the BMW. The old man who got knocked down was bleeding from his head. Although he was conscious, he seemed to be out of breath and couldn't speak."

Police investigations are ongoing.
