A car caught fire along Bukit Panjang Road on Monday evening (May 8).

A Stomper alerted Stomp to the incident and shared photos and videos he took of smoke rising into the air from the burning vehicle.

He said it happened near Senja-Cashew Community Club and Bukit Panjang Plaza.

The car is believed to be a Mercedes-Benz.

In response to a Stomp query, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said they were alerted to the fire at about 6pm.

"SCDF extinguished the fire using a water jet and a compressed air foam backpack," an SCDF spokesman said.

There were no reported injuries and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
