Person locks self in Serangoon Road unit, arrested for public nuisance and suspected drug-related offences

A person was arrested for public nuisance and suspected drug-related offences following a stand-off along Serangoon Road on Sunday evening (Nov 14).

In response to a Stomp query, the police said they received calls for assistance at 587 Serangoon Road at around 7.40pm.

They added: "When police officers arrived, a 30-year-old person was found to have locked themself inside a unit at the said location.

"As it was assessed that the person posed a risk of self-harm, officers attempted to access the unit."

Police officers managed to gain entry into the unit at about 9.45pm. They arrested the person for public nuisance and suspected drug-related offences.

Videos taken by Stomper Marco at around 10.30pm show numerous police vehicles and an ambulance at the scene.

No injuries were reported and investigations are ongoing.
