Pedestrian killed in accident with bus in Ang Mo Kio, driver arrested for careless driving

A 46-year-old woman died in an accident with a bus along Ang Mo Kio Avenue 3 on Wednesday morning (Aug 25).

In response to a Stomp query, the police said they were alerted to an accident involving a bus and a pedestrian at 6.47am.

The female pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene by a paramedic.

A 56-year-old bus driver was arrested for careless driving causing death.

Stompers Khalifah and S, who passed by the accident site, shared photos showing a police tent on the roadside.

An SBS Transit bus can be seen next to the tent.

Police investigations are ongoing.

Ms Tammy Tan, senior vice president of corporate communications at SBS Transit, told Stomp in a statement: " We are deeply sorry that this has happened and are trying to get in touch with the next-of-kin to offer our condolences and assistance. We will do our best to help and support them during this difficult time.

"Meanwhile, we are assisting the police in their investigations."
