Pedestrian flies 6m after getting rammed by private bus outside Pasir Panjang Wholesale Centre

A 46-year-old man was sent flying nearly six metres after getting rammed by a private bus, and rushed to a hospital for treatment. 

The incident happened on the West Coast Highway, just outside Pasir Panjang Wholesale Centre on Tuesday (July 25) at around 6.25pm, reports Lianhe Wanbao via Lianhe Zaobao.

When reporters rushed down to the scene, the victim had already been conveyed to a hospital for treatment, while the bus involved was parked in the leftmost lane. 

There was a trail of blood, about six-metre long, in front of the bus, believed to have been left behind by the injured victim.

A 50-year-old civil servant who witnessed the accident told reporters that the victim had been trying to cross the road when the bus hit him.

The 65-year-old driver of the bus said that the impact of the collision sent the man rolling after hitting the road, and his head was visibly bleeding. 

A police spokesman, in response to media queries, said that the police were alerted to the case at 6.25pm on July 25, and the victim was conveyed conscious to National University Hospital for treatment.

He added that the case was under investigation.
