Two people were taken to hospital after an accident in Jalan Besar on Monday (Nov 23).

The police said they were alerted to an accident involving a pedestrian, a motorcycle, a car and a stationary car at the junction of Dickson Road and Perak Road at 12.13pm.

A police spokesman told Stomp: "The 23-year-old male motorcyclist and the 45-year-old female pedestrian were conscious when conveyed to Raffles Hospital."

Stomper Noorwi, who works at a hostel in the vicinity, recounted: "I was doing my work when I heard the sound of tyres jam-braking.

"There was a loud bang and screams that turned to crying."

"I stopped my work and went to check out the commotion."

In photos that Noorwi took from the second floor of her hostel, the female pedestrian can be seen lying face-down on the road while surrounded by a crowd.

One of the woman's shoes had fallen off her foot.

Paramedics are then seen attending to the pedestrian while members of the public sheltered them with umbrellas.

The pictures also show a motorcycle wedged underneath a car.

Police investigations are ongoing.
