It was a heartwarming display of strength and unity on Thursday (Feb 21) when a group of people from all walks of life helped to move fallen trees that were obstructing traffic along Holland Road.

Stomper Manju and her husband were driving along the three-lane road towards Dempsey at around 9.15am when they found their path obstructed by two large trees.

She told Stomp: "Our car was the first one in front and the trees had covered all three lanes.

"My husband, drivers from other cars and cyclists came down to move the trees aside so that traffic could pass, while I called the authorities to inform them about the incident."

According to the Stomper, the weather was "good" at the time of the incident.

Manju also took photos and videos of the scene, adding: "The trees were so heavy.

"I was quite concerned for those who were moving the trees as they got bitten by ants.

"They were very big ants and people were like, 'ouch, ouch.'"

The entire process took the group around 15 minutes, said Manju.

She added: "A contractor arrived afterwards.

"I would like to thank everyone for coming together to clear the obstruction."
