Residents at Jalan Rajah were surprised to see a trio of otters scurrying down the road on Monday morning (May 6).

Stomper Ben Lee, Founder of Centre for Wildlife Studies, alerted Stomp to the sighting after his friend shared photos and videos of the animals with him.

"My friend sent me the photos and videos because he knows how much I am involved in wildlife matters and issues in Singapore," he said.

Ben's friend was turning out from his condominium when he saw what he thought looked like "three huge cats" across the road at about 9.02am.

He then realised they were actually smooth-coated otters running along the pavement.

"They first headed to The Verve condominium but failed," Ben's friend said.

"They then tried Rajah Tower and failed again as the security guard stopped them before heading towards HomeTeamNS Balestier."
