Video shows shocking moment Malaysian bus collides with truck, killing 1 and injuring 11 S'poreans

A new video of a fatal traffic accident involving a coach and a gravel truck in Malaysia shows the moment of collision.

The accident which killed a Malaysian bus conductor, and injured 13 others occurred on the Karak-Kuala Lumpur Expressway near Kuala Lumpur on Saturday afternoon (April 7).

Of the 13 injured, 11 are Singaporeans aged between 19 and 81 years old, who were conveyed to hospital for treatment.

In the video uploaded on Singapore roads accident.com新加坡公路意外网页's Facebook page, the bus which was making a return trip from Genting Highlands to Singapore is seen travelling in the leftmost lane.

As it approaches a gravel truck ahead, the bus does not slow down, crashing into the rear end of the truck. 

The impact smashes the front of the bus.

Photos taken after the incident show that the impact left the left side of the bus severely damaged, with its windscreen completely gone. 

The bus conductor, identified as 26-year-old Mr Carles Lagan, was trapped near the front of the bus and died on the spot following the crash.

According to The Straits Times, six of the 11 Singaporeans who were involved in the accident have been discharged. 

Five of the patients were discharged from Selayang Hospital in Selangor and another from Kuala Lumpur Hospital.

The remaining five are still hospitalised. 

It is believed that the bus driver had lost control of the bus, causing it to ram into the truck.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
