Netizens baffled after car seemingly 'appears' out of nowhere, causing accident

A video of an accident where a car seemingly 'appeared' out of nowhere has left netizens baffled.

In the video posted on ROADS.sg, a car driver can first be seen making a right turn at a traffic junction as the lights were changing in his or her favour.

Everything seemed to be going smoothly, until another car suddenly appeared in front of the turning vehicle at the 18-second mark of the video, leading to a collision.

The second car was nowhere to be seen as the first car was making the turn, leaving netizens baffled as to what exactly happened.

Said netizen Elfie De Souza:

"Seriously I kept repeating the vid it seem the car appear out of nowhere."

Quipped Facebook user Jacky Tong Liang:

"This is really weird. Played a few times and still cannot figure out where the car is from."

Some, like Alan Wong, had feedback that was a little more sinister:

"Oh man... this is indeed spooky and luckily we are in the 8th lunar month liao and Ghost Month already over."

Before we wrongly place the blame on the paranormal, however, perhaps we should take a closer look at what happened.

Judging from the video, there was a period of time where oncoming traffic was blocked from view by the turning car.

The 'ghost car' of sorts might have been approaching the intersection then.

If you paid attention to the top of the turning car, you can vaguely see the top of the other vehicle as it was moving along the road.

The timing of both vehicles was absolutely spot on in giving the impression that a car appeared out of nowhere, causing an accident.

There is, of course, an off chance that what happened was an indeed the act of a metaphysical traffic entity.

If that was the case, we would recommend that the ghost(s) stick to roads that with no Electronic Road Pricing (ERP) gantries, because we think they probably cannot pay for surcharges with hell money.
