Prominent local entrepreneur Elim Chew and Member of Parliament for Tampines GRC Baey Yam Keng joined a group of 'kakis' and caught 61kg worth of fish in the name of goodwill.

Stomper Lum was alerted to what happened through an interest group on WhatsApp. In a telephone interview, he said that the meaningful activity took place at D'Boat Premium Fishing at Pasir Ris Fishing Pond on Sunday (Oct 8) at around 2pm.

A photo he sent shows the group of posing behind their haul of fish.

After the event, the fish were then placed into two community fridges at the foot of Block 441 Tampines Street 43.

The fridges were for residents to donate food for their needy neighbours.

A video posted by Elim Chew on Facebook shows Baey Yam Keng packing the fishes for storage as well handing them out to members of the public.

At the end of the video, he also rallied others to join in the community effort.
