Motorcyclist taken to hospital after chain collision on PIE

A 27-year-old motorcyclist was taken to hospital after an accident involving a van, two cars and one motorcycle along the Pan Island Expressway (PIE) on Wednesday afternoon (Oct 6).

A video of the incident that happened before the Toa Payoh Lorong 2 exit towards Changi was shared on SG Road Vigilante's YouTube channel.

In the video, a van is seen hitting the rear of a motorcycle which in turn hits a car on the right-most lane of the expressway.

In response to a Stomp query, the police said they were alerted to the accident at 2.05pm.

"A 27-year-old male motorcyclist was conveyed conscious to the hospital," a police spokesman said.

Police investigations are ongoing.
