Motorcyclist sent flying after getting hit by car at North Bridge Road

A 44-year-old motorcyclist was taken to hospital after getting hit by a car at the junction of North Bridge Road and High Street on Monday afternoon (July 5).

Stomper A, who shared photos of the accident scene, lauded a man who rushed to the motorcyclist's aid.

A said: "The motorcyclist was knocked down by a car and flew almost 100m.

"An uncle rushed over to help carry him to the roadside and helped with the bleeding while waiting for the ambulance."

The Stomper called the man a "local hero".

In response to a Stomp query, the police said they were alerted to the accident at 4.55pm.

The motorcyclist was conscious when taken to hospital.

Police investigations are ongoing.
