Motorcyclist and female pillion rider flung off bike after skidding on PIE

A motorcyclist and a female pillion rider were thrown off their bike in an accident along the Pan-Island Expressway (PIE) on Friday night (Dec 28).

The motorcycle had skidded and no other vehicles were involved.

A Stomper contributed a video of the incident, which she said occurred in the direction of Changi, near the Bukit Timah Expressway (BKE) exit.

The video shows how a car in front of the Stomper had swerved left to avoid the motorcycle after it skidded.

The two riders can also be seen flung off the motorcycle.

The Stomper said: "I didn't stop to check but the motorcyclist was able to stand up."

In response to a Stomp query, the police said they were alerted to the accident at 11.29pm.

"The pillion rider, a 31-year-old woman, was conscious when conveyed to Ng Teng Fong General Hospital," added a police spokesman.

Police investigations are ongoing.
