Perhaps they missed the sign.

People are repairing their motorcycles in the void deck of a Teck Whye HDB block under a sign that says no repairing of motorcycles is allowed.

Stomper Sam, who has lived at Block 17 Teck Whye Lane since 1981, said this has been going on for years and shared the photos to prove it.

The photos have date and time stamps indicating that they were taken in 2019, 2021 and 2022.

"I have made many calls and went to the Chua Chu Kang Town Council office with pictures as evidence and yet nothing has been done," said the Stomper.

In response to a Stomp query, the Chua Chu Kang Town Council said it is aware of such activities.

"Our officers have conducted several inspections but did not spot the offenders.

"The repair or parking of motorcycles at the void deck is not allowed under the town council by-laws. Signages are displayed prominently to warn against such activities.

"We have put up additional notices to highlight the penalty for flouting the by-laws. Besides having the wheel of their vehicles clamped, owners of motorcycles parked at the void deck will be fined.

"We will continue to monitor the situation closely and will not hesitate to take the necessary enforcement actions against offenders."
