7 sent to hospital after 12-vehicle chain collision on KPE

More than 10 vehicles were involved in a pile-up on the rightmost lane of the Kallang-Paya Lebar Expressway (KPE) this morning (Oct 6).

Stomper Noor, NoorWhirlzWindz and another Stomper alerted Stomp to a video of the chain collision that has been circulating on WhatsApp.

Stomper Thi also sent in a video she took while a husband was driving past the scene.

Multiple vehicles could be seen stuck bonnet to boot, with one car's rear wheels on a taxi's bonnet.

Land Transport Authority (LTA) officers can be seen at the scene blocking the lane with their motorcycles.

In response to Stomp media queries, a police spokesman said that they were alerted to the incident at 9.42am.

Three women and four men were conscious when conveyed to the hospitals.

Stomp understands that two were sent to Raffles Hospital and five were sent to Singapore General Hospital.

Police investigations are ongoing.
