The Ministry of Manpower (MOM) is investigating an incident where a worker was seen cutting tree branches without proper safety equipment at Upper Serangoon Road on Friday (Sep 4).

Stomper Georgina alerted Stomp to the incident that happened at 10.10am and sent a photo of what she saw.

"I saw the worker cut tree branches with no ladder and no harness attached to him," Georgina said.

"It is so dangerous. I am afraid that he might fall and injure himself."

Georgina also added that it was her first time seeing an incident like this.

In response to a Stomp query, a spokesman for MOM said: "MOM is aware of the incident and is investigating.

"Members of the public who wish to report workplace safety and health issues can do so through the SnapSAFE mobile application (http://www.mom.gov.sg/eservices/snapsafe).”
