A Mercedes-Benz driver was caught on video mounting a kerb and knocking over a road sign along Hougang Street 51 on Oct 13 at about 11.30am.

Stomper Mike was driving behind the Merc driver that morning when he noticed the driver smoking while driving.

In a video he shared with Stomp, the driver is seen suddenly cutting into a filter lane on the left before losing control of his vehicle and mounting a kerb.

In doing so, he hits a road sign and sends it flying.

"He was not only driving recklessly while smoking but hitting public traffic infrastructure as well.

"That Hougang road is quite busy with pedestrians.

"Luckily, no civilian was injured.

"I hope the Traffic Police can take action against the irresponsible driver."
