Men run from burning van on CTE

A van caught fire along the Central Expressway (CTE) towards the Ayer Rajah Expressway (AYE) on Thursday morning (July 18).

Stompers Rohaizat and Mike alerted Stomp to the fire and shared a video and photos of the incident.

In the video, men can be seen running away from the vehicle that is engulfed in flames.

In response to a Stomp query, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said it responded to the fire on the CTE after Outram Road at about 6.30am.

The fire was extinguished by SCDF using a water jet, a spokesman said.

"A person was assessed by SCDF paramedics but the person refused conveyance to hospital," he said.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
